Herbal Medicine
Chinese herbal medicine is a therapeutic system designed to normalize imbalanced energy, or Qi, that runs through invisible meridians in the body. Our plant-based preparations are designed to treat the underlying causes of illness rather than individual symptoms.
Our herbal medicine is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This means we create our formulas and select our herbs based on a different understanding of the body from Western biology.
At the same time, according to the WHO, about 25% of today’s modern medicines have been developed from plants first used traditionally in herbal preparations. Ultimately, both Western and Eastern medical approaches have validated the use of these natural remedies, but take different perspectives in understanding how they work.
Yes. Our herbs are carefully selected and evaluated for safety and efficacy. There is no drowsiness associated with the herbs, and the preparations are safe to take while working, driving, caring for children, etc.
Check with your doctor before drinking herbal medicinal tea if you are pregnant, on blood thinners, have diabetes, or have Crohn's Disease.
At Eastward Health, we utilize the highest quality herbal suppliers in the world to create custom combinations of Chinese medicinals. Our selection of herbal ingredients come exclusively from authentic growers in China and Japan.
We've worked with many of our suppliers for over 30 years. These deep relationships allow us to source premium herbs from the best farms in the world.
Yes! Our formulas are 100% plant-based, and never contain any animal products.

Yes, absolutely. Our remedies are safe for long term use. They can be used continuously to address health issues or as a health supplement.
Our formulas are herbal medicine. This means our first priority is ensuring the efficacy of our formulas.
Sometimes this means we will include herbs that don't taste too great. You can expect an earthy, sometimes bitter taste. We're using powerful plant components including roots, stems and barks. Often times, this is where the most important compounds are found.
While these parts of the plant don't taste great, we do balance the flavor profile with peppermint, cinnamon and other pleasant-tasting botanicals that also play a significant role in herbal medicine.
Immunity Shield Tea
Immunity Shield Tea is a loose herb tea blend designed to boost and optimize your immune function. It is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Herbal medicine can help boost an underactive immune system. Our preparations work by correcting global energy, or Qi, imbalances within your body. When Qi is properly balanced, the immune system can function at optimal levels.
Specifically, this formula addresses many systems involved in stimulating a particular type of Qi called the Wei Qi. Wei Qi is the body’s defenses against diseases in the environment.
Through this optimization process, we’ve seen significant success combating immune deficiencies. Additionally, research has also shown that acupuncture enhances blood flow throughout the entire body, leading to healthier tissues and a stronger immune system.
We work with hundreds of different herbs to assemble the optimal formula. These herbs have been used for thousands of years as part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). You might even know some of them from your kitchen, like peppermint and cinnamon.
TCM herbal formulas use many different parts of the plant, including the leaf, flower, stem, bark, and root. You can expect to see a combination of different herbs and herbal components in your tea formula.
The Immunity Shield Tea contains: Astragalus Root, Japanese Catnip, Glossy Privet Fruit, White Atractylodes, Peppermint Leaf, Tangerine Peel.
You can drink this tea every day! We recommend drinking 1 cup per day during times of increased risk, or when your health has been challenged. There is no downside to regular consumption. This tea is designed as a regular immune function supplement.
The Immunity Shield Tea was formulated by Kerry Weinstein, L.Ac. Kerry is an NCCAOM board-certified acupuncturist.
At Eastward Health, we've been practicing TCM for 40 years and have delivered over 230,000 TCM-based treatments. All our remedies are required to pass final review by the entire staff as part of the formulation process.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), conception occurs when the body is able produce a great surge of yang energy. When this energy is harnessed, it is called "clear fire", and produces fertility.
This formula is designed to produce and harness yang energy, thereby powerfully assisting conception. The herbs in this formula have been carefully selected for both their individual properties and synergistic effects.
No. In fact, many of our customers are using the Fertility Assistance Tea alongside other medical treatments, like IVF. The Fertility Assistance Tea is an effective standalone approach, or a complimentary approach to any other fertility treatments.
Moreover, our recommended regimen is designed to be compatible with most IVF treatment regimens. The Fertility Assistance Tea is intended for consumption during the first two weeks of your cycle. Following ovulation, many IVF treatments advise against introducing additional factors. We designed this tea formula to strengthen your system sufficiently in the first two weeks to maximize the likelihood of success following ovulation.
We do advise, however, that you contact us before taking the Fertility Assistance Tea if you take blood thinners, have diabetes, or have Crohn's disease. We may need to create a specialized formula for you in these cases.

Lactation Support Tea
We recommend drinking 1/2 cup after breastfeeding (3x/day).
We also recommend taking this tea for up for up to 6 months. While recovery of organ systems occurs by the 6 week postpartum mark, other processes often lag behind and usually go unnoticed. For example, simply regaining the integrity of muscles and connective tissues of the pelvic floor is a biological process that can take months, and should be properly addressed for that period of time.
This is the perfect formula for Moms looking to support their lactation and accelerate their postpartum recovery. This tea helps strengthen the production of milk while keeping the taste of the milk consistent.
In traditional medicine, it's important to match the intensity of recovery to the intensity of the physiologic processes involved in pregnancy and childbirth. Attending to that process now maximizes the rate of recovery and quality of your overall health.
